The anticipation of birth
Today is the day many have been preparing for. Not only is it the full combustion of the great gods of the sky, Saturn and Jupiter, but it also marks the day of the Solstice. Every mark of the seasons represent the cycles that happen within, the honouring of the external process of our earth is a ceremony to ourselves and our connection with her. To honour, we must first understand, and this day in particular, has a very powerful portal of energy to connect with and embody.
Combustion
Jupiter and Saturn are both in zero degrees. This is referred to as a combustion astrologically because the archetypal energies of both of these planets merge and become a unified force. Generally these planets are conflicting, Jupiter is expansion and Saturn is contraction, when they merge they create a new cycle of energetic expression that impacts us on a personal and collective level.

Consider it the clash of the gods, Saturn being the father of Jupiter, who overthrew him for dominion over earth, they now meet again, in battle, for rulership of our psyches, with us as the witness. We decide who wins within us- influence is merely frequency, and we have the power to choose which frequency we resonate with based on our practices. Do we remain limited by our karmic restrictions? Do we dedicate ourselves to embracing unconditional love, for ourselves and for others? Think of this as choosing to act from your subconscious or choosing to act with awareness. It’s the choice of heart or mind, creating a unified channel is the ultimate goal. This choice is clearly being presented to the world right now, as we witness the pendulum of polarity swinging heavily.
Revealing
The moving of these great planets represents the beginning of a global shift in awareness, from the self to the ‘other’. This journey is interpersonal. It calls on us to be accountable for the state of our worlds- our own internal world and the one we share. Stagnant energy that has been residing in our minds and bodies will be brought to our conscious reality and we will possibly be facing some harsh truths about ourselves, our own deception, and the ways we avoid our own responsibility as individuals and as creatures of this planet.
No longer can the ego exclude itself from the collective, as manifestations of thoughts are more powerful than they have ever been and the solstice combustion of Sun and Mercury only bring forth the subconscious realities for you to experience yourself. The Sun being our soul and Mercury the messenger, allows us to drop deeper into how our souls truly want to express in this lifetime. Over the next few days, pay close attention to your reactions, internal dialogue and reflections, these will be your guide to aligning with your authenticity.
The dawn of the age of Aquarius
Aquarius energy compartmentalises, analyses and seeks truth above everything else. Its expression is fast moving air, feel it like a gust of wind ushering you into a new state of being. Allow it to wash over you like a wave, taking everything negative with it. A conduit from the ether to you. Wind can change your state of being very fast, forcing you to adapt to a new experience, giving you the opportunity to witness your own growth and then share it with others. It is now time to be open. Open yourself to all your emotions, open yourself to all your shadows. Lovingly accept yourself for all you are and have been, acknowledge the deaths you’ve gone through to become who you are, and see the journey you’ve been on to arrive where you are now. Practice this by seeing it in all the people you interact with. Truly be open to witnessing them, not just projecting your own experience onto them. If you do that, you will only meet yourself, until you truly learn who you are.

Ultimately, this portal will teach us that love does win. But it begins with you. Unconditionally accept yourself, love every inch of your being until you are filled with gratitude, then reach out and share it, project that into the world and watch as the world changes to meet you, in and with love.
A ritual of opening to love

preparation
Cleanse your space. Palo Santo or Sage are good options.
Find the time to be quiet within, just sitting or lying, and breathe into yourself. Inhale into the spaces in your body that feel tight, sore or stagnant, exhale all that comes up as the breaths get deeper and deeper. Take anywhere from 10-20 minutes just relaxing into yourself, the longer you do this, the more centred you will be. Once you feel centred, find yourself sitting on the floor- outside, inside, wherever the conditions are right.
Begin with words and fire
Begin by lighting your candle with the intention of purification.
On one piece of paper, write your shadows. Purge and face the harsher truths of you. Things you may not like to see, but know are buried deep within. This may bring up a lot of emotion, but facing it is what gives you power.
On the other, write all of your strengths, the things you want to embody, what you love about yourself. The love.
Read the first piece of paper into the flame, holding any emotions that arise, with love. Then burn the piece of paper until nothing is left. With this, the energetic resonance of those aspects of you are transmuted.
water and love
The second piece, speak the words into your glass of water. Feeling the love and appreciation you have for yourself, nourishing every word and knowing that you are embodying what you are reading. Hold the paper over your heart, thank the water, and then drink it.
gratitude, air and earth
Take a few more moments, maybe to mourn, maybe to cry, laugh, expand. Connect to your heart and thank your ancestors for allowing you to be here. With the intention and commitment to yourself you’ve just made, blow out the candle.
Walk outside, look up, and feel the expansion within your chest. Step on the earth with bare feet. Be ready to grow in all ways, to all four corners of the earth, you are held, and your love will reach everyone that you send it to.
